| Guest | changing message selection does not mark as unread .. I'm using "Windows Mail", version 6.0.6000 on Vista Home Premium (SP1). When I change the selection in the Message Pane, the message SHOULD be marked as unread, but nope. What's the catch here? -- Regards, Stefaan Meeuws |

| Guest | Re: changing message selection does not mark as unread .. Not sure what you mean by "change the selection". If a message displays its body text in the preview pane, then it is considered 'read'. You can adjust the number of seconds it takes before the message is considered 'read': Tools, Options, Read, "Mark message read after displaying for X seconds". -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Stefaan Meeuws" <rolling_stone_dev@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:Xns9AFF5C7A3566Crollingstonedev@xxxxxx

And set the text to Bold? "Right click a blank spot on the desktop and choose Personalize. Click Windows Colour and Appearance. Open classic appearance properties for more Colour options Click Advanced. In the Item drop--down box click Icon! Select the Bold button to deselect that text setting!! OK Apply OK. This is also a Global change. This problem was also reported by another user, within the past few days, they reported back to my above advice as follows: "Thanks - it worked, although not quite in the way you recommended. I went through the steps you suggested, but the bold button was not highlighted. What did the trick, however, was changing to a different font." They did not say which Fonts where involved, or if they had initiated the 'original' change of font? So -- if it is not the Bolding problem that I firstly suggest, and it is a font type problem, please report back with some detail if you don' mind? Have you installed any application recently that might have changed the font? Help us to help others please. HTH? -- Regards Steve. MS-MVP. MAIL.
