| | bellsouth.net email not sending After spending 25 minutes on hole and another 30 minutes going through the settings for Winsows Mail, Iwas informed that Windows Mail is the issue and that I need to contact Microsoft. Attached rror message below: The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider. The rejected e-mail address was 'bethandnoahcampbell@xxxxxx'. Subject 'Re: hey', Account: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Server: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 [PERMFAIL] yahoo.com requires valid sender domain', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79 |

| Vista Ultimate x64 SP2 | Re: bellsouth.net email not sending Hey Carmody, I have the same problem, but only when I am not on my "home" network, i. e., not hooked directly to bellsouth. Here's my workaround: get a gmail account (or any other freebie with POP/SMTP support), and when bellsouth isn't taking your email, send using this fallback account. Note, you can set up this fallback account to have your bellsouth account as the default "reply to" address. Hope this helps. |

| | Re: bellsouth.net email not sending Was your Internet connection coming from Bellsouth when you got that error? Also, make sure your 'From' address is valid. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Carmody827" <Carmody827@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B9F98E9F-AE74-45CC-9AD5-0D32B388A6C9@xxxxxx Quote: > After spending 25 minutes on hole and another 30 minutes going through the > settings for Winsows Mail, Iwas informed that Windows Mail is the issue and > that I need to contact Microsoft. | | Re: bellsouth.net email not sending Only use Bellsouth ISP. I re-entered the information multiple times. | Vista Ultimate x64 SP2 | Re: bellsouth.net email not sending Are you sure you are having troubles sending the email? Is it leaving your outbox? This looks like a yahoo problem, not a bellsouth problem. It looks more as though yahoo.com is bouncing your message back to you, probably as a spam defense gone wrong. You may have to tell beth and noah to add your address to their list of contacts before they can receive mail from you, or lighten up on their spam settings. |

| | Re: bellsouth.net email not sending Just checking. Some people use a laptop that they carry around to various locations. Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties. On the General tab, make sure your email address is complete and accurate. The eror message implies that there is something wrong with your email address. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Carmody827" <Carmody827@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:7D8997BC-E47D-4ABC-8600-34B610507C80@xxxxxx Quote: > Only use Bellsouth ISP.
