| | Font Size in compose window I have two computers, a notebook and a new desktop, both have the same problem. The notebook is running Vista Business, the desktop is running Homw premium. When these computers were new there were no problems; however, as they aged they both developed identical problems. Within Windows Mail, Compose Window, when entering text I now cannot change the font size. If I enter a few letters, then cxhange the font size in the above winwow using the up/down arrow, the new font size is selected, but the moment that I enter a letter it reverts back to the 12 font. I tried booting the desktop computer into SAFE mode; the problem was still there. This is driving me crazy. I wish that I had the old Outlook Express back. Skipper -- Skipper-Can |

| | Re: Font Size in compose window Since what you are experiencing is not normal for Windows Mail, I tend to suspect a third party security program as the cause. If you really want to find out one way or the other, you would have to uninstall Kaspersky as a temporary test. Another option is to upgrade to Windows Live Mail: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "skipper" <skipper@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:74088627-9557-4163-87F8-669E53AA5004@xxxxxx Quote: > Kaspersky Anti virus 7.0 > -- > Skipper-Can > > > "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: > Quote: >> Works fine here. >> Which antivirus are you running? >> >> -- >> Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) >> >> >> "skipper" <skipper@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:99BC01ED-9D0D-4B5D-8DCA-DFECD125F642@xxxxxx Quote: >> >I have two computers, a notebook and a new desktop, both have the same >> > problem. | | Re: Font Size in compose window I have exactly the same problem on my Vista Home Premium computer and when I posted a message in this group on the 17th. August did not receive any solution. The inability to hold the font size I wish to work in has only cropped up a week or so ago and I wonder if perhaps some Microsoft update has caused it? It appears to be fairly widespread, since other people in several on-line forums I have looked at are having difficulties with "frozen" font settings also. I do not think my anti-virus program (Avast) is to blame because it has resided on my HD for over 2 years without ever causing any conflicts whatsoever. As for using Live Mail as an alternative, I do not wish to switch away from Winmail and do not think it would be any less free from hiccups either. (Better the DEvil you know ......!) Let us hope that some knowledgeable guru in this forum will be able to get us out of the woods!
