My Windows Mail is receiving all mail but while it sends everything there is
a black spaced where the text was unless it is an attachment. Also how can I
get Windows Photo Gallery to default to Windows instead of Outlook to send
photos ?

To stop Outlook from sending photos:
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows
Mail". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.

Is the black space in sent messages or received messages?
Check the following settings:
Tools, Options, Security, select the Internet zone.
Also, uncheck "Block images..."
Go to Tools, Options, Read, uncheck "Read all messages in plain text".

If no improvement, which antivirus are you running?
