Re: VISTA WINDOWS MAIL ERROR MESSAGE

Sorry but your first point is confusing, you may want to clarify are you uninstalling Norton, and if so why are you wondering about installing norton malware? I think there may be a typo there, and just for a better answer you might want to get to that point.

As for your second part you might want to go to control panel/network and internet and take a look at your connection to a network, and take a look at your status. Are you using wireless or a ethernet/cable connection?

Re: VISTA WINDOWS MAIL ERROR MESSAGE

Sorry to be confusing.

1) Other contributors here suggested that I uninstall Norton Internet
Security because its anti-virus feature prevents my Windows Mail messages
from being sent to my second computer. My older computer is routed by Linksys
to my newer one.

I have reconnected the Windows Firewall feature. I also have Windows
Defender protecting the computer. So I believe I'm still protected from
viruses.

However, I am still unable to receive messages on my second computer that
are sent to my "host" computer. I AM able to send messages from the second
computer.

2) I solved my second problem (see below) on my own, through sheer accident,
I think!

Thanks for your continued attention.

Re: VISTA WINDOWS MAIL ERROR MESSAGE

As far as uninstalling Norton anti-malware, that depends on which
problem you are trying to resolve. Your question #1 doesn't say.
If you are still having the same problem as yesterday, I responded
to you yesterday with the fix for that.

Note: It is customary here when replying to quote the post one is
replying to.

Re: VISTA WINDOWS MAIL ERROR MESSAGE

Have you checked support. I think from the little you have told us you are
using Roadrunner from Comcast in NYC. If that's right, go to
http://help.rr.com/HMSLogic/rrmail.aspx for help with setting up your
account.
