| | Re: Problems recieving mail Either you are entering the wrong username/password, or else that account is corrupted. That type of account corruption is often caused by interference from a non-compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running? As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off, although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects. In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled. If turning off the email scanning function does not resolve your problem, consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects from overly aggressive antivirus programs. http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons explained here: http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "adodie" <adodie@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:C3AE1BFC-6876-4040-AF0B-08923E1B9637@xxxxxx Quote: > It worked fine yesterday. | | Re: Problems recieving mail The username and password are fine because i can sign into the online email account provided by tiscali. My antivirus is bullguard. I've had it on scanning emails for a while but i turned it off and havent had any luck. I tried turning the firewall and antivirus off aswell to see if it helped but it didnt. Each time it just keeps asking for my username and password then when i put them in it comes up again. I havent even got 'log on using sercure password authentification' on. I'd prefer not to use windows live mail if i can help it as im so used to windows mail. Thanks for your help. | | Re: Problems recieving mail Bullguard may have corrupted that email account. One thing you might try as a possible quick fix is to delete that corrupted account, restart Windows Mail, then recreate that mail account. If that doesn't fix it, do a test uninstall of Bullguard, reboot, then try Windows Mail again. If that cured the problem, we can recommend a free replacement antivirus. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "adodie" <adodie@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:06D8B2D1-855C-42A6-A62C-BE45B9A50CA0@xxxxxx Quote: > The username and password are fine because i can sign into the online email > account provided by tiscali.
