| | Cannot use Windows Mail My e-mail works fine but my wifes does not work. When my wife opens windows mail, windows security wants her user name and password, when she puts it in it won't accept it and she gets the following error message Account: 'Mail', Server: 'pop.telus.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR invalid user name or password.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92 Some help would surely be appreciated and quite possibly save a marraige. lol. |

| | Re: Cannot use Windows Mail Either she is entering the wrong username/password, or else that account is corrupted. One thing you might try as a possible quick fix is to delete that corrupted account, restart Windows Mail, then recreate that mail account. If that doesn't fix it, more drastic measures will have to be taken. That type of account corruption is often caused by interference from a non-compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running? As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off, although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects. In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled. If turning off the email scanning function does not resolve your problem, consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects from overly intrusive antivirus programs. http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons explained here: http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "John" <John@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:C0227B3F-6FFA-4892-93DE-4516CAFC2195@xxxxxx Quote: > My e-mail works fine but my wifes does not work.
