This is absolutely ridiculous! Why is setting up e-mail so difficult. I have
a hotmail account that works fine. But if I want to respond to a "craigslist"
ad, they take me to windows mail, which I can't seem to use. What do i do?

Try this fix which will set Hotmail as your default email service:
