| | When I reply to a message it defaults to one of my other email acc I cannot seem to change the email address that is my default reply address. In the properties it seems like they are all set correctly. I have 7 accounts (one for each person in my family). When I creat a new message it is the correct account because I am the default account but when I hit the "Reply" or "Reply to all" it will bring up one of the other accounts. Does anyone know how to fix this? -- Traci |

| | Re: When I reply to a message it defaults to one of my other email acc When replying or forwarding, Windows Mail uses the account which originally downloaded that message. All you can do is change the account by clicking on the down-arrow in the From line. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "mmkeeper" <mmkeeper@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:F6473591-8502-41F7-A247-9D4A1D1693B4@xxxxxx Quote: >I cannot seem to change the email address that is my default reply address. > In the properties it seems like they are all set correctly. | | Re: When I reply to a message it defaults to one of my other email When doing a reply, Windows Mail normally chooses the account that originally downloaded that message. Sometimes the account information is missing, in which case WM uses the default account. To monitor the possibility of missing account info, you need to display the Account column. Right-click on any column header in the message list, select Columns, and the rest is obvious. Also, which antivirus are you running? Some are known to strip the message account info. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "SteveW" <SteveW@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:497B7A4C-CB06-46C4-A212-1EE68F0F7CF4@xxxxxx Quote: > Gary > I am having the same problem and it send to me, but my wife name pops ap > when I reply. > > Steve > > "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: > Quote: >> When replying or forwarding, Windows Mail uses the account which >> originally downloaded that message.
