Re: windows keeps asking for password

Either you are entering the wrong username/password, or else that
account is corrupted. One thing you might try as a possible quick fix
is to delete that corrupted account, restart Windows Mail, then
recreate that mail account. If that doesn't fix it, more drastic
measures will have to be taken.

That type of account corruption is often caused by interference from
a non-compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

If turning off the email scanning function does not resolve your problem,
consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to
suffering bad effects from overly intrusive antivirus programs.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
    explained here:

I am having the same problem. My Microsoft Outlook started, all of the
sudden, started asking me over and over for my password. I called verizon
about my DSL and they checked everything out and they thought maybe the file
was corrupted. I then deleted out the Microsoft Office and reinstalled it.
I tried it again and the same thing happened. I then upgraded to Office 2007
thinking that maybe it will resolve the issues. It still has not. Every
time I check email for new messages and/or send email it asks me for my
    password.

If you really mean "Outlook" you are in the wrong newsgroup.
The newsgroup to which you posted is for the Windows Mail program.
You are more likely to find Outlook experts in the Outlook newsgroup:
