| | continuing etc. Gary, I checked everything. I've turned off Trend. That's when things started to work. The Troubleshooter is still no help. Now when I send I get: Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. | | Re: continuing etc. Turning it off usually doesn't help. In most cases, you need to uninstall the program and then do a custom re-install where you can tell the installer to NOT install any of the email scanning bits. It is quickly becoming true that email scanners pose more of a computer malfunction threat than does the malware they are supposed to keep out. The error you posted is very often the direct result of an email scanner having a bad hair day. | | Re: continuing etc. That new error message is most likely caused by your antivirus. Trend Micro antivirus is among the top three troublemakers for Windows Mail. First, go into its settings and disable any interaction with email, then try Windows Mail again. If no improvement, do a trial uninstall. Another option (instead of uninstalling Trend Micro) is to upgrade to Windows Live Mail, which is more resistant to the adverse effects of overly intrusive antivirus products: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview In any case you must disable any antivirus email scanning, for the reason explained here: http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Roger William Brown" <kountryking@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:e$FQB9CGJHA.828@xxxxxx Quote: > Gary, > I checked everything.
