| | Attached files About 50% of the emails that I receive show the paper clip indicating an attached file. However there is no file attached. When someone does send me an attached file, the paper clip shows, also. I really hate to bring each message I get up just to see if there really is a file attached. I'm on a new computer, using the home version of vista, with Microsoft mail. Rip West |

| | Re: Attached files Chances are, you installed AVG antivirus using its default install option. If so, uninstall it, then reinstall, but select 'custom' install, which then allows you to forgo installing the troublesome email scanning module. While AVG is uninstalled, try Windows Mail again, just to verify that the culprit has been found. Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons explained here: http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Rip West" <ripwest@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:OkxDUutGJHA.2580@xxxxxx Quote: > Thank you.
