| | Windows Mail "locks up" when trying to open an attachment I can not open any attachment, even one that I have sent to myself. Windows Mail just locks up and I have to stop it with Task Manager. It will, after a VERY long time, download an attachment to the download folder. I am not using any third party anti virus program. Under WinMail tools/opitons/security I have everything set to lowest settings. |

| | Re: Windows Mail "locks up" when trying to open an attachment Sounds like you've already covered the usual causes for this problem. Instead of spending a lot more time on this, I recommend you upgrade to Windows Live Mail: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "repinfl" <repinfl@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:33202D68-CAE3-4C6D-9BC9-08F08F32E08E@xxxxxx Quote: >I can not open any attachment, even one that I have sent to myself. | | Re: Windows Mail "locks up" when trying to open an attachment Sorry to hear that upgrading to WLM did not help. I have no other suggestions except to do a repair-install of Vista: Repair Install For Vista -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "repinfl" <repinfl@xxxxxx> wrote in message news C3DE47C-AAD3-4699-9D78-8561BA37C696@xxxxxxQuote: > > > "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: > Quote: >> Sounds like you've already covered the usual causes for this problem. >> Instead of spending a lot more time on this, I recommend you upgrade >> to Windows Live Mail: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview >> >> -- >> Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) > Did the above and it works the same way with the same problem. > Robert Quote: >> >> |
