Windows Mail - Emails not reaching MOST recipients

I have spent all week trying to figure out why some of my emails are not
rec'd to those i email to. This just started w/ in the last week. There is
no error message rec'd, it just never reaches the recipient. I have spent
time w/ three friends and one receives emails, two others dont. we all have
    different isp providers.

I know the port set up for my ISP provider and it is all correct, as per
comcasts website. I spent three hours working w/ them on friday to no avail.

I have removed my antivirus software, sent emails to all three subjects,
same result. I re-added my antivirus software.... checked one hundred
different things and still, I cannot get all recipients to receive my emails.

The emails leave the outgoing mail folder.... there is no error. I have
logged into my comcast webmail and when I send to the same three people, they
all rec'd it. So I am afraid it is something w/ in Windows Mail. I do not
feel comfortable removing windows mail, I have a lot of things I do not want
    to lose.

If anyone is aware of any vista updates that have occurred that fouled
things up, please let me know. This last week there were 5 new updates and
ironically, this is when my problem began.

Thank you so much for any assistance you can provide.

Re: Windows Mail - Emails not reaching MOST recipients

If at least one recipient receives your outgoing email, then your
Windows Mail is sending normally. Windows Mail does not
    discriminate among your recipients. :-)
Some of your recipients may have poorly functioning anti-spam
filters which are catching and disposing your emails. Likewise,
some of your recipients may have a provider who is doing some
aggressive filtering at the server level.
An email sent via webmail will have different header characteristics
than an identical email sent through an SMTP server, so they get
different treatment from spam filters on the receiving end.

One workaround is to set up a free account with Gmail, configure
    it for Windows Mail:
    http://mail.google.com/support/bin/a...y?answer=86383
Then try sending through that account.

Re: Windows Mail - Emails not reaching MOST recipients

    Hi Gary,

The three recipients that I refer to are family members whom I email
everyday. I was this last week when they said they haven't heard from me and
I told them that I had been sending emails. Then we ran a variety of "test"
emails and they won't go thru. I have since learned that many others aren't
    receiving emails.

I am at the point where I am going to restore my computer. I have
everything I need saved on my external drive. I really appreciate your help.
    You're always most kind.

It is frustrating when email only works sporadically, and there are
no error messages to help with troubleshooting.
Before you decide to restore your computer, consider upgrading
    to Windows Live Mail: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

Logic tells me that neither restoring nor upgrading will fix this type
of problem, but you never know.

Re: Windows Mail - Emails not reaching MOST recipients

    Hi Gary,

I did see the windows live option. However, I have concluded my email
issues IS IN FACT related to my laptop. I have added my email account on my
daughters laptop and sent test emails to ALL of those whom I emailed
previously and everyone rec'd my email.

I have also realized that something has sucked my hard drive down to 2.83 GB
of free space. I have an 80 GB hard drive and the last I checked which was
last week sometime, I had 50% of free space on that drive. I didn't download
anything and cannot find what is taking up all that space. I definitely
think a restore is needed. As always, I appreciate your help. You're
extremely smart and I can't thank you enough!

    You're very welcome, Candice.

Yes, a lack of free space on your hard drive can be detrimental.

I wonder if something happened to my registry or something. I haven't
downloaded anything and there should be way more space than that. I have ran
my antivirus software and it didn't dedect any viruses.....so I am thinking
the reformat is inevitable. Do you think I will get all of my disk space
back??? I have everything backed up on my external hard drive, so I
shouldn't lose anything.... I am just worried that I'll reformat and still
have NO DISK SPACE! YIKES! This has never happened to me before.
