| | Re: Using Links found on the internet I am having the same problem, I did exactly as Dave directed, but I still get the same problem that Nancy was having, where it says my mail is not set up correctly. I can receive and send mail, but I can't click on e-mail on specific sites. Any help is greatly appreciated. | | Re: Using Links found on the internet Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item: "Set your default programs." After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows Mail". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults" then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Les" <Les@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:FE9F7694-8836-40F8-B71C-37641DA8D2E4@xxxxxx Quote: >I am having the same problem, I did exactly as Dave directed, but I still get > the same problem that Nancy was having, where it says my mail is not set up > correctly. | | Re: Using Links found on the internet I tried this and it still gives me this message "cannot perform that function because the mail was not set up properly. Originally after I set up windows mail, I was able to click on e-mail on specific sites but it opened the trial version of microsoft office outlook suite 60 day trial version. I deleted this and now when I try to click on the e-mail on a site it gives me the message above. Thanks for any help. | | Re: Using Links found on the internet Apparently the uninstall of Outlook corrupted the defaults. The following procedure will rewrite the default protocol assignments in the registry: Open the Default Programs applet, then click on "Set program access and computer defaults." Expand the Custom selection, and select some other email program besides Windows Mail. Click OK. Then go back and select Windows Mail. Click OK. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Les" <Les@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:877F0240-0962-48D8-88C9-E259E3E277B1@xxxxxx Quote: >I tried this and it still gives me this message "cannot perform that function > because the mail was not set up properly.
