File associations in Windows Mail

Hi,

I have an attachment which is a .doc file. When I try to open the
attachment I get the message saying that the file does not have a program
associated with it.

I have checked the file associations and have made sure that Word is
associated with this type of file. However, every time I try to open the
attachment I get the same message.

I have saved the file and it opens up just fine when I access it out of
Windows Mail but I don't always want to save a file to be able to read it! I
want it to open in Windows Mail.

Any suggestions as to why this is happening and how I can solve it? I'm a
little mystified!

Many thanks.
