Windows Mail and POP3

2nd question: Are there any other POP3 type accounts; apart from Gmail/Googlemail, that can be used for free with Windows Mail. Once again: Much appreciated

I am not aware of any other free POP accounts besides Gmail.
Your ISP service should include at least one POP account.
