| | Windows Vista windows e mail newsgroups error message Have HP Pavillion w/Vista home prem. Used Windows email for newsgroups. Just Stopped working. Now I get the error message below on every message I open in all newsgroups. ""Message is no longer available on the server Windows Mail is unable to retrieve the requested message because the server no longer has the message available. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- News servers regularly expire articles as they get older to make space available for newer articles. IMAP servers can be accessed by multiple e-mail programs at the same time. If you are using two programs to access your mail the list of messages maybe out of date. Use the refresh command to update this list. Windows Mail """ |

| | Re: Windows Vista windows e mail newsgroups error message That news account may have become corrupted. Delete it, restart Windows Mail, then recreate that account. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "strom" <srs_sattv@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:LUvIk.46$Ve2.44@xxxxxx Quote: > Have HP Pavillion w/Vista home prem. For several days, things worked well with Windows Mail, but now I am getting the same problems you are. Today I installed Windows Live Mail and did not see the problem. However the color scheme makes it extremely difficult to use. Changing the color scheme only seems to affect the icon line, not the newsgroup names and text. I suspect the problem here may be my poor vision! :-( One other problem common to Outlook Express and Windows Mail was "catching up" in newsgroups to which I just added. This would invariably lock up the computer and I would have to use the task manager to kill the newsreader. I have not noticed this problem with Windows Live Mail. It worked for two days and now does the same thing so it is useless. One thing I notice is after three days the old one started working. Lasted one day and went bad again. So now I have two news accounts both doing the same thing. Downloads message on the newsgroup ok. Try to open any header I get that error message """ ""Message is no longer available on the server """ and a line goes thru the Header. By the way the messages all open and are still there when I use GoogleGroups newsreader. |
