| | Re: Setting up email I see you posted with a Yahoo email address. Is that your only email address? US-based free Yahoo accounts have webmail access only, no POP access. Windows Mail handles POP mail but not webmail. There are two Yahoo solutions: 1. How did you access Yahoo mail before? If you are happy with webmail via your browser, you can continue to use that. 2. Pay Yahoo to get their premium "Mail Plus" service: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mai...iew/index.html and use the special settings for that service: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mai...op/pop-14.html If you are OK with using a non-Yahoo email address, you have two other solutions: 3. Use the email address assigned to you by your ISP. 4. Get a free Gmail account. If you need more help with one of these four choices, let us know. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Ebony" <sassyjazzymae@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:%23fOSJASMJHA.4248@xxxxxx Quote: > I'm trying to get my email and chat setup on my new computer and I dont know what an imap server is.....Someone help me please > ![]() |

| | Re: Setting up email By "include" you mean add that account to Windows Mail? In Windows Mail: Tools, Accounts, Add, Mail... If you mean your Live account, that is an exception. Free Hotmail and Live accounts have webmail access only, no POP access. Windows Mail handles POP mail but not webmail. The newer Windows Live Mail program does accommodate Hotmail and Live accounts: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Dirtydeidz" <enniroc@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:uAf5cD7MJHA.4380@xxxxxx Quote: > anyone know how I can include my e-mail account with Windows Mail? > "Ebony" <sassyjazzymndoiae@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:%23fOSJASMJHA.4248@xxxxxx Quote: >> I'm trying to get my email and chat setup on my new computer and I dont know what an imap server is.....Someone help me please >> ![]() |
