Re: account configuration

Windows Mail (which is the topic of this newsgroup) cannot access any http
email accounts.

Windows Live Mail (microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop) can access
Hotmail/Live email accounts.
There is no need to configure a Hotmail account. Just enter your email
address into the setup, it will do the rest.
Tools - Accounts - Add - Mail - etc.

RE: account configuration

Did you finally get a solution as I am having the same problem. Please help
me, if you have not had a solution and I find a solution do you want me to
give you what I found out?

Re: account configuration

Free Hotmail and Live accounts have webmail access only, no POP access.
Windows Mail handles POP mail but not webmail.

The newer Windows Live Mail program does accommodate Hotmail and
Live.com accounts. You are welcome to upgrade to it:
