Sending database attachment problem with Windows Mail

I have read on this site that Norton Anti-Virus and McAfee are
incompatible with Windows Mail; my Uncle is using the former AV
programme with Win Vista.

He has a problem whereby his trying to send a Database created with
Access 2007 as an attachment via Windows Mail is rejected ,on the
grounds that the attachment is unsafe. The latter is then apparently
placed in the "Unsafe Mail" folder.

I have not been able to check up on any details with him unfortunately,
but do you think that Norton Anti-Virus could be responsible for this
type of thing? Or might it be an issue between Win Mail and Access 2007?

If he moves away from Norton, would Bitdefender be compatible with
Windows Mail?

Many thanks

Mike Turner

Re: Sending database attachment problem with Windows Mail

If you can successfully receive e‑mail messages, but can't send
messages, then Windows Mail is having problems connecting to the
outgoing e‑mail server.

Re: Sending database attachment problem with Windows Mail

This problem is often caused by running a non-compatible
anti-virus.uninstall Norton Anti-Virus program, reboot your computer
and then try Windows Mail.If you are still facing any problem then let
us know.

Re: Sending database attachment problem with Windows Mail

Two possibilities. First make sure attachments are enabled:
Tools, Options, Security, uncheck "Do not allow attachments..."

If no improvement, then his antivirus is blocking the attachment.
Open the antivirus settings and disable any and all interaction
with email. In a worst case scenario, the antivirus may have to be
uninstalled and replaced with a more compatible one.
