| | Newly activated Windows mail account...Cannot get incoming mail to work I just activated my Microsoft mail account and I am able to get mail out, but no incoming. My ISP is AOL, my settings are set to POP3 for incoming mail server and I have entered 127.0.0.1 for address. My error is that unable to connect to server at this time, keeps asking me if I want to "wait another 60 seconds" or "stop" . Eventually I give up. I am currently using Spy Sweeper, but I have tried disabling e-mail attachment shield with no success. This was a suggested fix by Help in Spy Sweeper. Any and all help to get me up and running would be greatly appreciated Thanks Lou |

| | Re: Newly activated Windows mail account...Cannot get incoming mail to work First, let's correct some terminology. You don't have a Microsoft mail account. You have an AOL mail account, and you are using Windows Mail as your email program to send and receive messages for that AOL account. Please explain why you entered 127.0.0.1? Make sure you follow AOL's instructions for setting up your email: http://postmaster.aol.com/imap/express.html Those instructions were written for Outlook Express, but Windows Mail uses the same settings. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Lou Colombo Weichert Realtors" <LJC3333@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:eIo5rk4QJHA.4492@xxxxxx Quote: >I just activated my Microsoft mail account and I am able to get mail out, but no incoming.
