| | Re: PB for sending email with big files attached That type of problem is usually caused by interference from a non- compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running? As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off, although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects. In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled. If turning off your antivirus email scanning function does not resolve your problem, consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects from overly intrusive antivirus programs: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons explained here: http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Maurice" <Maurice@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:F64618B7-F107-4399-A9D4-684546CEC073@xxxxxx Quote: > When I attached a big file (lore than 1Mo) to my email > > Widows mail stopped and say to me that SMTP stopped > > and ask to me if I what to wait 1mn or to continue immediatly > > > I take 3 or 4 times to sen my message > > What I must do besaue with Outlook espress and Windoqs XP, i dont have this > mistake > > Thanks for your help > |

| | Re: PB for sending email with big files attached If disabling email scanning in your antivirus did not resolve the problem, you have two options left (as I indicated below): 1) Temporarily uninstall your antivirus, to see if it makes a difference, and/or 2) Upgrade to Windows Live Mail: -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Maurice" <Maurice@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:A9A653DC-6A00-488E-A939-2013037609AC@xxxxxx Quote: > Thanks Gary > > MyAnti virus is Bit Defender > > I use Windows Mail which replace Outlook Express in Vista > > And not Windows Live Mail as you say > > I try to disable the outgoing E mail as you say > > > "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: > Quote: >> That type of problem is usually caused by interference from a non- >> compatible antivirus program.
