I just configured windows mail and...

I read a few of the other posts, and i realized that the default setting
under the account was not to leave a copy of the message on the server. So i
have remedied that, but is there any way to get that mail back on to the
server?? Because now i am sort of screwed if i i'm not using windows vista
mail... can't access my old emails.

Well, you could always forward them to yourself.

Re: I just configured windows mail and...

No. If you deleted them from the server, they won't come back.

But you can take the eml files in the inbox directory and then drag them
into an OE folder on another machine to incorporate them into that other
machine.

Re: I just configured windows mail and...

The message store is located via Tools | Options | Advanced | Maintenance |
Store Folder.

If you go into that directory, you will see a subdirectory called Local
Folders and under that will be a subdirectory called Inbox. That contains
all the messages WinMail finds in the inbox.

So if you copy that directory onto a machine with OE on it, then you can
drag those eml files overtop an OE folder and drop them and OE will
incorporate them into the OE message store.
