| Vista home premium 32 bit | multiple accounts in Windows Mail Hi, I have two computers set up as nearly the same as I can make them, running Vista home premium 32 bit and Windows Mail 6.0.6000.16386 I have several e-mail accounts with different ISPs, some accounts using the ISP as the "supplier" and others hosted by the ISP but having .co.uk extensions. On one machine, all the accounts are checked and receive all e-mails (as they should!) but on my laptop, try as I might, only some of the accounts are received when the send/receive all button is pressed. The missing ones being my .co.uk hosted addresses (which are set up as the default addresses by the way). I can send from all accounts. What am I missing in my set up? PS I have tried export/import account details to ensure that both machines are using the same data. Is there anyone out there who can stop my already thinning locks from becoming extinct??? Regards David |

Also using the same path, ensure that you have selected 'Leave a copy of messages on the server' on the advanced tab. You need to set one of the machines to delete from the server after a reasonable number of days, or your server mailbox will overfill. -- Regards Steve. MS-MVP. MAIL. | Vista home premium 32 bit | Re: multiple accounts in Windows Mail Thanks for replying mac. I have already got the check accounts on opening ticked. I may be a bit funny, but I don't mind which machine picks up the messages, so I haven't bothered to leave them on the server. As soon as either machine picks up the message it is deleted at the server. I have tried all the sending and receiving from other accounts, and if I send a message to the default account on the laptop it will not pick it up. As soon as I open the desktop it is there! Until 7 November the laptop was also picking up some of the messages from our "joint" account using a <username>+recipient setup. This has now stopped working, and I tried reloading the account information without success - Mail won't accept the "+recipient" in the user setup... although this is exactly what is working on the desktop machine!!! What is going wrong? David |
