| | Re: Unable to send email..."Connection to Server has failed" Comcast made some changes in their email settings without telling their customers. Follow these steps, beginning with step 10: http://www.comcast.com/Customers/FAQ...s.ashx?Id=2288 Note that the outgoing server now requires port 587 rather than 25. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Lloyd" <Lloyd@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:9F635980-E97B-4994-9B87-93D070623210@xxxxxx Quote: >I get the message noted in the subject heading. | | Re: Unable to send email..."Connection to Server has failed" Did you follow the published instructions of your mail provider: http://help.yahoo.com/l/au/yahoo7/ma...op/pop-08.html If you still get an error message, right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here. We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "daisychainone@xxxxxx" <daisychainone@xxxxxx@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:212DAB09-113A-4BBC-86AC-7BFAF0EAFF97@xxxxxx Quote: >I dont know what I'm doing. | | Re: Unable to send email..."Connection to Server has failed" HI Gary Still not there quite yet. Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR login failed', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92. This is the cut and copied you asked for. Regards Pat "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: Quote: > Comcast made some changes in their email settings without telling > their customers. | | Re: Unable to send email..."Connection to Server has failed" That type of problem is usually caused by interference from a non- compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running? As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off, although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects. In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled. Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons explained here: http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects from overly intrusive antivirus programs: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "daisychainone@xxxxxx" <daisychainoneyahoocomau@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:CB4CB4A1-EA5F-49BB-911F-91E8E42098B0@xxxxxx Quote: > HI Gary > Still not there quite yet. > Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, > Server Response: '-ERR login failed', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server > Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92. > This is the cut and copied you asked for. > Regards > Pat > > "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: > Quote: >> Comcast made some changes in their email settings without telling >> their customers.
