Unable to send email..."Connection to Server has failed"

I get the message noted in the subject heading. My acct. is mail.comcast.net

Server is listed as smtp.comcast.net
Protocal is smtp
Port: 25
Secure (SSL) no
Socket error: 10060

Also states error # 0x800cc0E

I receive emails without any problems. Thanks for any assistance anyone can
provide.

Re: Unable to send email..."Connection to Server has failed"

Comcast made some changes in their email settings without telling
their customers. Follow these steps, beginning with step 10:
http://www.comcast.com/Customers/FAQ...s.ashx?Id=2288

Note that the outgoing server now requires port 587 rather than 25.

Re: Unable to send email..."Connection to Server has failed"

Did you follow the published instructions of your mail provider:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/au/yahoo7/ma...op/pop-08.html

If you still get an error message, right-click on your error message, copy,
then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

HI Gary
Still not there quite yet.
Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3,
Server Response: '-ERR login failed', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92.
This is the cut and copied you asked for.
Regards

Re: Unable to send email..."Connection to Server has failed"

That type of problem is usually caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from overly intrusive antivirus programs:
