Importing address book from Outlook 2000 to Windows Mail

Can anyone point me in the right direction for importing data from my old
Outlook 2000 into the new Windows Mail?

Thanks

RE: Importing address book from Outlook 2000 to Windows Mail

I've reviewed a number of the posts below and run into 2 problems. Having
installed Outlook on my Vista computer, I've tried to open the old .pst file
and nothing happens. Then when I try to import or export files, I'm told the
WAB DLL file is missing. Copying OUTWAB.DLL to he new computer didn't help.

Re: Importing address book from Outlook 2000 to Windows Mail

Thanks. I checked out the website you gave me and while that explained the
problem somewhat to me, it didn't really help my dilemma. All I really want
to do is retrieve the address book and existing emails from my old Outlook
file and import them into Windows Mail. I don't need to continue using
Outlook on this particular computer. Unfortunately, I don't have a computer
with Outlook Express to try that export/import route.

Re: Importing address book from Outlook 2000 to Windows Mail

You have to set up Outlook and conect it to your existing data file, before
you can retrieve your old mail
Your outlook address book is I believed contained in the *.wab file on your
old PC
