| | RE: Windows Vista Mail asking for logon information now Same thing started today for me. I never had to logon before. Now all of a sudden everytime I open up windows mail a box comes up saying Windows Security: logon to mail.lakefield.net Please verify that both the username and password are correct for your mail server. I put in my username & password & make sure "Remember my credentials" is marked. Plus in my account I have my password saved for both incoming & outgoing mail. But for some reason it is not saving it all of a sudden. It is getting frustrating to have to keep logging on everytime. I have tried all I can think of. Can anyone shed some light on this problem? | | RE: Windows Vista Mail asking for logon information now Nevermind, I found a solution that works for the moment anyways, hopefully for good. If you open windows explorer & go to C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Protect there is a folder there that has a bunch of numbers like S-1-5-393481413- & so on, yours may have differant numbers but what you do is you delete that folder then restart your computer, then restart windows mail & put in your username & password, making sure you save it. A new folder should get created to replace the one you deleted. Then it should work without putting in your password everytime. Worked for me anyways.
