Problem with Microsoft Word and Email

I cannot seem to send documents in windows mail - even if I attach them... I
get an error that the file location could not be found. If I try to email
directly from Word, the "email" icon is not highlighted and will not let me
activate.

Re: Problem with Microsoft Word and Email

Make sure the document is closed in Word. Windows Mail can't attach
documents that are open elsewhere.

In Word, can you do: File, Send To, Mail Recipient?

Re: Problem with Microsoft Word and Email

I'm using word 2007 - so the command doesn't look like File: Send to, Mail
reciepient.....but the same functionality -- when I use Send, my only option
is Internet Fax. The link for email recipient is not active.

Go to Default Programs, either from the Start menu or in Control Panel.

Select set my default programs, wait for the list of programs to populate,
select MS Office Outlook and ensure that is all its defaults set.

Re: Problem with Microsoft Word and Email

I don't think the OP wants Outlook to be her default. ;-)

Re: Problem with Microsoft Word and Email

The following procedure will rewrite the default protocol
assignments in the registry:
Open the Default Programs applet, then click on "Set program
access and computer defaults." Expand the Custom selection, and
select Windows Mail. Click OK. You may have to restart Windows.
Does this restore the Email link in Word 2007?
