| Guest | Auto empty deleted items folder on exit How do I set up my Windows Mail to ask me if i want to empty my deleted items folder automatically when I exit the program. I had this set up when I was using Outlook as my previous email program, but now I've upgraded to Vista and Windows Mail, the option has either been moved and/or renamed aand I can't find it. Can anyone help? Regards Andrew |

| Guest | Re: Auto empty deleted items folder on exit Hope I'm not telling you the obvious, but for this to work, you have to actually exit WM via the red x, or right clicking the WM tab in the taskbar. Just shutting down and letting Vista close WM will not work. | Guest | Re: Auto empty deleted items folder on exit Thanks to both Delboy and Dave. I'm not sure what I did, it certainly wasn't the cure Dave suggested but my wife's deleted items are now auto-deleting as they should be. (Mine were fine from the start) I have to repeat I continue to find Vista frustrating, Microsoft have re-named so many of the functions and moved them to a new location at the same time so I spend hours trying to find the functions I want, ignoring what turns out to be the correct solution as it is NOT in a group where I think it should be and is NOT named anything like the function I want to switch on or off. Anyway, thanks for your help "Delboy" wrote: Quote: > Hope I'm not telling you the obvious, but for this to work, you have to > actually exit WM via the red x, or right clicking the WM tab in the taskbar. > > Just shutting down and letting Vista close WM will not work. > > Delboy > > "Dave" <dave@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:O0a5dSCbJHA.4504@xxxxxx Quote: > > Tools - Options - Advanced - Maintenance > > > > > > -- > > Vista Home Premium 32 SP2 beta > > http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview > > http://download.live.com/wlmail > > > > > > "Andrew" <Andrew@xxxxxx> wrote in message > > news:A4053A3B-F697-45D4-8D77-B15A23CF7295@xxxxxx Quote: > >> How do I set up my Windows Mail to ask me if i want to empty my deleted > >> items > >> folder automatically when I exit the program.
