| Vista Business 32 bit | Windows Mail questions First time using VISTA & Windows Mail....alll I knew was Outlook Express & XP Home. Was on the phone for hours with Sony support ( Microsoft advised me to call them because it's a new Sony laptop) but could not get a clear answer: 1) Is it possible to have ONE column for the contact list with the LAST name first ? ( like in Outlook Express ) 2) I can't get the "auto-finish" feature to work for all my contact names when I start to type them....just a few. ( like in Outlook Express ) *Update: I switched to Windows LIVE Mail......seems less aggravating now !!!! Last edited by yeeman; 01-05-2009 at 11:09 PM.. Reason: Switched to a different mail account !!! |

| | Re: Windows Mail questions 1. The Contacts list is easier to use by first starting a new email (or replying to an existing email), then clicking on 'To:'. It should cycle through four different sorts as you keep clicking on the Name column header. 2. That is known as the auto-complete function. Windows Mail does not auto-complete from your contacts. It uses a separate list of the last 29 recipients you've sent mail to. The auto-complete feature works much better in the replacement program, Windows Live Mail, which uses the standard contacts list. You are encouraged to upgrade to the newer WLM program: http://download.live.com/wlmail -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "yeeman" <guest@xxxxxx-email.com> wrote in message news:070c4e8572a0a7f4439cfff0da811e95@xxxxxx-gateway.com...
