| | Explorer connects, e-mail does not Emachines refurb with Vista. Explorer connects on start-up, but when I start Windows E-mail, it asks me to connect, and then won't successfully do so. Gives me the Dial-up connection dialog, and Broadband connection as my only option. Tries to dial and finally gives Error 815 Server not responding. Meanwhile all is fine with Internet (as shown by my typing here). What gives? Some kind of modem/connection conflict? Clueless so far. Thanks for any help. |

| | Re: Explorer connects, e-mail does not It would have been helpful if you had disclosed what type of Internet connection you have. In Windows Mail go to Tools, Accounts, select your mail account, then click on Properties, Connection. What does it show for connection? You must either leave that unselected (in which case WM will use whatever connection IE uses), or else you can select the Local Area Network if you have broadband. Also, under Tools, Options, Connection, the first box should be checked, and the second box unchecked. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "paper boy" <paper boy@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:16F02C3B-2739-4EE9-88EB-11B70D68A4AF@xxxxxx Quote: > Emachines refurb with Vista.
