RE: Email Groups...

I'm new to Vista and Windows Mail (WM) but very proficient in Outlook Express (OE) and Windows XP. I have over 1000 contacts, some business, some personal and all show up when I click "TO:". Sorting/searching through all these is a major pain in the butt. I can create groups and folders, no problem, but they're mixed into the entire contacts list (again over 1000 to search through). I'm unable to search just the folder of choice and it seems I have to send to EVERYONE in a group???

In OE I can break my contacts into groups/folders and sort/search, through just the folder I want. I can also select individual contacts within that group or folder (i.e. only search the folder called Personal and select only the contacts I want to send email).

How do I do this in WM?

Re: Email Groups...

Windows Mail uses "Groups", which are mail lists. You can't pick & choose
from within the group. You can save the message as a draft, reopen it and
then delete any unwanted contacts..

The newer Windows Live Mail uses "Categories", from whence you can
select/remove
contact addresses.
microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop

Or try Thunderbird..
