PowerPoint Viewer not associated in Windows Main

I have a client that has downloaded and installed PowerPoint Viewer in Vista
Business edition, sp1. The file type association for .pps files is fine in
Windows and the user can double click on a PowerPoint presentation and it
    views just fine.

However, from within Windows Mail, the association does not work. If the
user tries to open a .pps attachment, it tells him that there is no program
    associated with this file type.

    Anyone know why?????

I've had the same problem since I got my new computer Jan. 16, 2009, and finally solved the problem today. Go to this web site and follow the easy directions.http://www.winhelponline.com/article...ows-Vista.html
I'm not a computer geek at all, and this was a very easy fix for me. Hope this helps.
