Why does my Windows Mail take 2 mins 15 secs. to open after splash

It takes a full 2 mins. and 15 seconds for my Windows Mail to open 'after the
splash screen appears'. What could possibly be causing this? I've
uninstalled the KB931768 that I read from a google search could be causing
this but I reinstalled within half hr almost immediately for fear of being
vulnerable. I thought I could re-uninstall it but now the KB number has
changed and I don't know where that problem causing KB is. I've compacted
Windows Mail in control panel. I've unisntalled my spy program. I still use
NOD32 for AV with no prob. The only problem is Windows Mail takes forever to
open. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I suggest upgrading to Windows Live Mail:

http://download.live.com/wlmail

Your antivirus software could be the problem. See point 3 here:
www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 You might also try compacting and repairing
the database with my Windows Mail utility: www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/

Gary

Just a personal thought. WM has issues and WLM has just as many if not more

Having both WLM and WM installed and running I can tell you that WLM
launches much faster then does WM

Perhaps, but the issues are different. A specific issue that bothers one user
may not bother another user. There is no harm in trying out WLM to see if it
suits one's needs better.
