Vista - Windows Mail Menu Freeze

Windows Mail Menu Freeze

Running Vista Home Premium

All Top Menu Items, File, Edit etc, when clicked on freezes Windows Mail completely

All other Mail items work OK.

It just started out of the blue (no major changes to system) but does it every time now.

Anyone who experienced and solved this, or knows a solution, please clue me in to a solution.

Only thing out of the ordinary was a BitDefender Anti-Spam Bar that would not quit when I turned it's anti-spam off. This was just an anoyance, not a Mail failure.
I just noticed that it is gone now, and mention this only as possibly some connection?

Any direct help greatly appreciated

Re: Windows Mail Menu Freeze

You could try uninstalling BitDefender to see if that cures
the problem.

Instead of uninstalling your antivirus, consider upgrading to
Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad
effects from antivirus programs: http://download.live.com/wlmail

Re: Windows Mail Menu Freeze

Thank you Gary. I believe you are right, it is BitDefender messing with it. I can be intrusive, and I got no solutions from BD factory, just run around.

Not sure on the Live part, will investigate if this could be viable for me

Thank you for your input.
