Vista - Problems with uploading photos in hotmail

I have windows live hotmail. When I upload photos to send, it will upload full size, 2 or 3mb pics each, it takes long time to upload and send. If I resize pics to desktop size, then itworks ok. I do not see any problems in vista 32bit. Does anybody has any experience like this with windows live hotmail? I was told by hp support that I have to resize before uploading in vista 64bit. Same thing happens in Gmail.
