Downloading Stationery

I've downloaded several stationeries from Microsoft Windows Mail, but when I
go to my stationery folder, none of the new stationery is there. Where is it
and how to I find it?

Re: Downloading Stationery

When you download a file, it goes to wherever you told it to...

When you run a install file containing stationery, it copies files to a
Stationery folder.

Stationery designed for Outlook Express goes into
C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Stationery

Stationery designed for Windows Mail goes into
C:\Users\youraccount\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Stationery

Windows Live Mail puts stationery in
C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Mail\Stationery

Windows Mail Stationery

RE: Downloading Stationery

When I save the stationery, I'm not given a choice as to where to save it,
so I assume it is going to the default stationery folder. After I've saved
the stationery and then go to the default stationery folder, the new
stationery isn't there. If it isn't saved in the default folder, then where
is it being saved? Very frustrating!

Re: Downloading Stationery

Create a new HTML message. Then go to View | Source edit and click on the
Source tab. Then find the <BASE href="blah"

"blah" is the location of the stationery folder in WinMail. They moved it
from the old default location to this new one, but the new downloads are
going in to the old location, so you have to move them from the old location
to the new one so that they show up in WinMail. See Dave's original
response for those locations.

Unfortunately, its another WinMail bug.

Re: Downloading Stationery

Are you using Internet Explorer?
If so, when you go to that page, select the stationery you want in the
"Download Now" box, and click on OK.
You should get the security warning, asking if you want to Run or Save this
file... click on "Save"
You should see the "Save As" window, where you can select the folder where
you wish to save the file. By default, it should use the last folder that
you saved to.
After it downloads, you should see the "Download complete" window, where you
can run the downloaded file, or open the location.
If you click on "Run", you should get a UAC prompt, and then a window asking
if you would like to install the Outlook Express stationery....
Clicking on "yes" should copy the files to the
C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Stationery
folder, where there will be a sub-folder for the theme you downloaded.

You can copy these folders to
C:\Users\youraccount\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Stationery
where Windows Mail looks for stationery.
