Setting up Hotmail or Yahoo or Another?

Okay, I am completely new to this!! And I wanted to either set up my yahoo
account or hotmail account to windows mail. I also wanted to know how i can
configure it in with my internet explorer so that way when I am trying to
email someone it can just automatically pop up!

Can someone be sooo kind and help me??

Thanks
Christine

Free Yahoo will not work in WM.

Try the following settings for Hotmail or Live accounts?

POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)
POP SSL required? Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example yourname@xxxxxx
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows
Live
SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25 or 587)
Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)
TLS/SSL required? Yes

Unless you live in Australia (I don't know if anywhere else as well?)

If you are in Australia then see here:-

This says it is for Outlook Express but it works well for me in Vista
Windows Mail.

Hotmail:

Yahoo: US- and CA-based accounts must be associated with a Yahoo Plus
subscription to be able to access the account in a Mail Client.

Re: Setting up Hotmail or Yahoo or Another?

To supplement what Steve said:

Windows Mail's new account wizard is hard-coded to reject Hotmail addresses.
So, when you enter your email address initially, give it a fake one,
such as me@xxxxxx. After the account setup is complete, go back
and correct your email address.
