| | Windows Mail failing to download some messages on POP3 account I have set up a POP3 account using Windows Mail, and it successfully connects to the POP3 server, but it only downloads some of the messages (approximately 1 in 2), and once a message has been "missed" in this way, no amount of clicking on Send/Receive will persuade Windows Mail to download it. Is there any fix or workaround for this? |

It might be appropriate to inform the group on the pop3 account in use(Yahoo, Google, your isp etc). -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "Paul Mikell" <Paul Mikell@xxxxxx> wrote in message news 414F06D-EB8E-4306-BDA4-E838081026DB@xxxxxxQuote: > I have set up a POP3 account using Windows Mail, and it successfully > connects to the POP3 server, but it only downloads some of the messages > (approximately 1 in 2), and once a message has been "missed" in this way, no > amount of clicking on Send/Receive will persuade Windows Mail to download > it. | | Re: Windows Mail failing to download some messages on POP3 account Are the missing messages visible in webmail, and if so, are they in the Inbox folder or some other folder? POP accounts can only download from the Inbox mail folder on the server. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Paul Mikell" <Paul Mikell@xxxxxx> wrote in message news 414F06D-EB8E-4306-BDA4-E838081026DB@xxxxxxQuote: >I have set up a POP3 account using Windows Mail, and it successfully > connects to the POP3 server, but it only downloads some of the messages > (approximately 1 in 2), and once a message has been "missed" in this way, no > amount of clicking on Send/Receive will persuade Windows Mail to download > it. | | Re: Windows Mail failing to download some messages on POP3 account Yes, all of the missing messages are visible in my ISP's (Orange) webmail interface. There were a few old messages in other folders, but the vast majority of them were in the Inbox folder. I have just deleted all messages from other folders, leaving the Inbox folder as the only one with any messages, but Windows Mail is still only downloading about 1 in every 2 new messages, and never downloading a message that it has missed. Is there any fix or workaround for this? POP3 server responding to a STAT with +OK 0 0 when their webmail interface was showing 6 unread messages in my Inbox folder. I've taken the matter up with them. |
