Pls avoid MS-bashing which is good for nothing!!
As to my experience it *might* be a problem related to IE8, it may it
might be not.
I had the problem in two if my machines under Vista and only on those
two, not on any others being configured with the same pattern. And it
appeared only when running under my *personal* user-profile. No problem
with the other profiles in the same machines.
So guess what ...
The problem could be solved be deleting the directory for the temporary
file used by IE and - as I had to find out the hard way - by WinMail
If you still have the problem, delete
"%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5"
and the problem should be cured.
