Windows mail won't send/ receive; username/password error

I can log onto my comcast.net account via the web, but windows mail gives me the following error message:

Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR invalid username/password', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

I am using the same username/ password in both instances. My antivirus software is AVG Free and I use vista home 32bit.
