Vista - No pictures in commercial email. Private email is ok

When I receive email the text is there but the pictures are not. Sometimes I
get the red X and other times nothing. But if I do a select all the blank
space turns blue as if something is there. When I get mail from ex. USAJobs,
the entire body of the email is blank. Some others the text directing me to
"having trouble viewing this email click here" and then it takes me to their
website. \
I have the block pics box unchecked and I am running vista with PCTools
Spyware doctor.
Also email from friends and family the pictures show up with no problems.
The only problem I am having is from commercial sites. And yes I even added
them to my allow list.

It may be that your personal email has the pictures actually in the email
body, while the commercial email has links to the pictures somewhere out on
the web. Some piece of security may be preventing you from access out for
email.

This I understand. The problem only started with the new laptop and the
switch to Vista. On my old computer & XP and outlook express this was not an
issue. Now with the new computer & Vista either outlook express and now
windows mail, I no longer have the images included in the email. In the
preview pane I can see everything but images. hyprelinks and all text can be
seen. Also this was a problem BEFORE I installed Spyware doctor so that
program is not the problem.

In windows live mail, you might try checking the boxes in Tools >> Safety
Options >>Security tab

In the download images section there are controls for how images are
handled. You might try setting them 'wrong' and then setting them back
'right' (as you want them). I have seen at times that the action and the box
settings can get out of sync.

I chose to keep and use outlook express when I moved files from old computer
to new one. I just the other day downloaded windows mail.

Either way the boxes are not checked. I did check them then applied new
settings, this then got me the white box with the red X(in emails). I went
back and unchecked the boxes and now the emails do not show the white boxes
with the red X, it just appears as a blank space.

update to windows live however I never set it as default mail handler. So
after it imported all my info I looked back at some emails and there were the
images that were not there before. So upgrading to "windows live mail" solved
the issue.

The program that you downloaded is Windows Live Mail.

Go to tools>options>read tab>ensure that read all in plain text is not
selected.

I tried the removing the x under option/security/block pics. It did, When I
changed it back the way it should be, it did work again. I did have to shut
down mail and restart it though!
