hey...perhaps you can give me some insight/guidance, I get the following
similar message:
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.
The rejected e-mail address was 'xxxxxxx@newsgroup'. Subject 'Fw: Bixel
St', Account: 'pop.windstream.net (1)', Server: 'smtp.windstream.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '501 5.5.2 RCPT TO syntax error', Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 501, Error Number: 0x800CCC79
I can send email and receive email, and the steps I've taken so far have not
yielded and results, they are verifying my "Server Requires Authentication",
I've deleted the specific contact cited in the error message from my list of
contacts and re-established it -just in case. I've deleted all email
messages to/from the cited contact.
I also am prompted with every time I send out a message to any of my
contacts, " One or more message in your Outbox do not have a valid account
specified. Would you like to use your default account to send messaged
Yes No
Any clues?
