Vista - Printing email not longer working in Windows Mail (System: Vista64, IE8)

Hello,

i have Vista64 and Windows Mail. Yesterday i installed IE8 and all the
office 2007 patches (don't know if relevant).
Now i am having problems printing emails. I get a windows with a script
error (i have a German windows, so i try to translate the error to english):

Title: Internet Explorer Scripterror

Line 291
Character ( Column ?) 1
Error: Interface not registered
Code 0
URL: res://ieframe.dll/preview.js

No i can stop the script or continue, but nothing happens. I don't get a
print dialog nor a print out...

Additional note:
I cannot reproduce the error on a Vista32 notebook. Could be Vista64 related
or error only happens on my computer, i don't know ?

Try uninstalling IE8, which should revert you back to IE7:

A big thanks goes to the "heise Forum", here is the solution:

In a DOS-Box execute the following command as administrator:

regsvr32 actxprxy.dll

The above command seems to be enough, but previously i executed the
following commands:

regsvr32 ole32.dll
regsvr32 oleaut32.dll

The last two haven't solved my problem, but perhaps are needed to solve the
complete problem with the first command ?

Hi,

Came across this post when I installed IE8 and suddenly couldn't print
(script errors) or open links in new tabs. Registering actprxy.dll using
'regsvr32 actxprxy.dll' did indeed fix the problem. Thanks Martin for
your solution and NO THANKS MICROSOFT for yet another bodged IE forced
upon users by Windows Update...
