| | Troubleshoot windows mail I'm unable to send emails in my windows mail. When i select 'send/receive' a pop-message comes up telling me: The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider. The rejected e-mail address was 'natanyafeigin@xxxxxx'. Subject 'Re: hi', Account: 'pop3.mweb.co.za', Server: 'smtp.vodacom.co.za', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554 5.7.1 <natanyafeigin@xxxxxx>: Recipient address rejected: Access denied', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC79 What can i do to fix this problem? |

| | Re: Troubleshoot windows mail When you got that error message was your Internet connection being supplied by Vodacom? If yes: Make sure you have send authentication enabled. Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Servers. The box for "My server requires authentication" must be checked. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "help" <help@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:122C51D6-69C8-4D25-92B0-D1BC9F718E01@xxxxxx Quote: > I'm unable to send emails in my windows mail. | | Re: Troubleshoot windows mail In the Contacts folder: Change the View to "Details". Right-click on the "Name" column heading, click on "First Name", then click on "Last Name" Click on the "Last Name" heading to sort by that, or click on "First Name" heading to sort by that. In a Create Mail window: Click on To: Click on the "Name" column heading... it cycles thru 4 different sorts In the Contact Properties: click on the down arrow at the end of the Full Name box -- Windows 7 Ultimate http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview http://download.live.com/wlmail "chaslloyd" <chaslloyd.41ajvb@newsgroup> wrote in message news:chaslloyd.41ajvb@newsgroup Quote: > > All the people in my "Contacts" are listed by first name, last name. > How do I get them converted to last name, first name? > > > -- > chaslloyd > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > chaslloyd's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/152675.htm > View this thread: > http://forums.techarena.in/windows-v...il/1171127.htm > > http://forums.techarena.in > |

| | Re: Troubleshoot windows mail Thanks. This gets me 1/2 way there. The contacts list comes up with last name first when I start create mail - that helps. But when I'm at the inbox and click contacts, they're still listed by first name first. Is there a fix for that? -- chaslloyd ------------------------------------------------------------------------ chaslloyd's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/152675.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-v...il/1171127.htm http://forums.techarena.in |
