Unable to send outgoing mail in Windows Mail

I have used Window Mail for 2 year on my computer. All of a sudden, I am no
longer able to send e-mails. I am able to receive, but not send. I have not
made any changes to my service provider account settings.

Below is the message I receive when I attempt to send mail.

Any suggestions???

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject '4', Account: 'postoffice.worldnet.att.net', Server:
'mailhost.worldnet.att.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error
Number: 0x800CCC0F

This type of error is indicative of third party application scanning
outgoing mail, such as your AV software.
Disable that part of the protection, since it is of no use what so ever.

Re: Unable to send outgoing mail in Windows Mail

Thanks for including the complete error message.
"Unexpected" termination is usually caused by interference from an
antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus should be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus should be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from overly intrusive antivirus programs:

RE: Unable to send outgoing mail in Windows Mail

pick a date when your email was working and do a system restore.
