| | Automatic retrieval of mail I can only retrieve my mail at start up. I can't get mail when I click on Send/Receive or automatically. I only get an error message when I click on Send/Receive...no other time. It says that an error has occured and to check the details below...but there is nothing below. Any suggestions/help? |

| | Re: Automatic retrieval of mail That symptom can be caused by interference from an antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running? As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus should be turned off, although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects. In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled. Email scanning in any antivirus should be disabled, for reasons explained here: http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects from overly intrusive antivirus programs: http://download.live.com/wlmail -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Linda Rider" <Linda Rider@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:86B41BBC-1A00-4738-8DE3-4496000A6907@xxxxxx Quote: >I can only retrieve my mail at start up. | | Re: Automatic retrieval of mail The error messages says: "Some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks. Please review the list of errors below for more details." There is no list to review. | | Re: Automatic retrieval of mail This occurred after a virus and all software was deleted. I have not yet reinstalled the antivirus software. It has been ongoing for a month, but I was in the hospital part of the time so didn't get around to getting it fixed or reinstalling the software...just have been putting up with it. I might give Live Mail a try...thanks. "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: Quote: > That symptom can be caused by interference from an antivirus > program.
