Can't send or receive emails

I've tried troubleshooting and all kinds of things, but can't get my Windows
Mail to send or receive. This problem happened all of a sudden, and I wonder
if it has something to do with AT&T connecting up with Yahoo. ??? This is
the error message that I'm now receiving:

Account: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Server: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol:
POP3, Server Response: '-ERR authorization not enabled', Port: 110,
Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

Please help. Thanks.

RE: Can't send or receive emails

I'm having the same problem with the same message - started happening
yesterday. Email kept asking for my user name and password - which I typed
in but It seems to be refusing to accept! - grrrrrr

RE: Can't send or receive emails

BTW My ISP is Orange (ex Wanadoo/Freeserve) but it appears from previous
posts that it is a problem on other ISPs too.

Re: Can't send or receive emails

AT&T has been migrating Bellsouth users to the AT&T/Yahoo mail servers.
Perhaps that is why the Bellsouth server is no longer working for you.
Try setting up a new account in Windows Mail using these instructions:

Re: Can't send or receive emails

If your ISP is different, then your error message can't be the same.

Right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.
