Re: My windows e-mail account will not send outgoing

Why are you using that legacy server which has been deprecated for
several years already? The older servers know nothing about modern
things like the SSL option you are using. Either turn SSL off:

Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Advanced,
then uncheck the SSL option.

Or else use the newer mail servers:

Re: My windows e-mail account will not send outgoing

If you would like some custom help, you should know by now what I need
from you:
Right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

Re: My windows e-mail account will not send outgoing

You don't use Windows Mail to send webmail (you use a web browser, like
Internet Explorer).

To set up windows Mail to access POP3........
http://helpme.att.net/article.php?it...action=Refresh

Note that you need to use authentication and ports 465 & 995.

Re: My windows e-mail account will not send outgoing

Set up a new account in Windows Mail using these instructions:

http://helpme.att.net/article.php?item=10707

You are attempting to use an older server that is being decommissioned.

Re: My windows e-mail account will not send outgoing

Your mail account settings don't reflect the ones required by the new servers:

POP server: pop.att.yahoo.com, port 995, requires SSL
SMTP server: smtp.att.yahoo.com, port 465, requires SSL
